Northern Mongolia Tour
The Northern Mongolia tour is one of the biggest tourist destinations in Mongolia. The route includes various types of roads such as dirt-road, paved road, high mountain passes and extreme off-road in some parts. Otherwise, it is more comfortable than the Gobi about tenting. With this tour you are able to learn about Mongolia and its historical places and discover the different provinces every day. The National Parks such as Hustai, Terkhiyn Tsagaan Lake, Khovsgol Lake and other Natural Resources are included in the Northern Mongolia Tour itinerary.
Day 1. Arrival Day
Transfer to Hotel. City tour in the afternoon, including: Sukhbaatar square, National Historical Museum, Gandan Monastery, Zaisan hill and Traditional Cultual Show. Dinner at restaurant.
Day 2. Hustai National Park
After breakfast in the morning we move to the Hustay National Park. Which is famous about its wildlife such as elk, marmot wolf, different types of birds and wild horse the Takhi /Prezhewalski Horse/ etc. Overnight in camp.
Day 3. Kharkhorum/Ancient Mongolian Capital/
Today we move to ancient Mongolian Capital called Kharkhorum/Kharkhorin in modern language/, and see the Erdene-Zuu monastery the famous one from middle age and Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. Overnight in camp/Tent.
Day 4. Tsenkher Hot Spa
Today we travel to one of the biggest natural hot springs called Tsenkher in Arkhangay province. This spring is with issuing at a scalding 65-90 celcius with the stench of hydrogen sulphide. Since early times the spring has been used for medical use and it contains sulfur acid and flint. Good influence for articulation, stomach, anemia, overfatigue, skin diseases and diabetes. At the end of the long drive you’ll love it to sitting in the hot spring. Tsenkher Hot Spring is surrounded by beautiful natural scenes and has comfortable weather conditions. Overnight in camp/tent.
Day 5. Terkhiyn Tsagaan lake & Khorgo Extinct Volcano Natural Reserve
Drive to Tariat soum of Arkhangay province to see Terkhyn Tsagaan Lake National Park and Khorgo the one of the biggest burnt volcano crater in Mongolia. The volcano was active around 8000 years ago. The crater depth is about 100 and 400 meters wide and its surrounding areas covered with up to 50 meters of lava. The sign of lava continues for around 100 km through the valley of Chuluut river. Around the lake and volcano you can make hiking, its surrounding environment is just incredible. Overnight in tent.
Day 6. Jargalant
Travel to Jargalant soum of Khovsgol Province. The Jargalant Soum has a beautiful surroundings with high mountains with large forest. Overnight in tent.
Day 7. Moron City
Travel to Moron City of Khovsgol province. Khovsgol provides enormous part of Mongolian forest and fresh water. Well known about its beautiful high mountains with larch, pine and spruce trees and Khovsgol lake the Blue Pearl. Overnight in camp/tent near by the city.
Day 8. Khovsgol Lake
Travel to Khovsgol lake National park. The national park is well known about its crystal clear Khovsgol Lake. It is the second biggest freshwater lake in the world and it contains around 1 percent of the world freshwater. The lake is 136km long and about 40 km wide and surrounded by beautiful larch and pine trees. Only, here we can take a picture with reindeers and yaks. There are many tourist camps and they run a lot of interesting activities for tourists.
Day 9. Khovsgol Lake-Rest day
Today we’ll stay at the camp all day and rest. You can manage your day as you wish. Here are the ideas of things to do: horse riding, jet boat, hiking, visiting nomads family, swimming and tasting traditional foods and other activities are available for your interest. Overnight at camp.
Day 10. Khutag-Undur
Travel to Khutag-Undur soum of Bulgan province. The Bulgan province is one of the places that tourists love to travel in Mongolia. The parts of this region are much different from each other. Khutag-Undur Soum area is mostly covered with forest and the biggest and beautiful Selenge river runs through its landscape. Overnight in camp/tent.
Day 11. Amarbayasgalant Monastery
Travel to Amarbaysgalant monastery. The monastery was built in early 18th Century, which was dedicated to St. Zanabazar the first Bogd of Mongolia. It is considered that there were over 6000 monks lived in 50 temples. Unfortunately, communists destroyed the monastery during the Great Revolution in 1930s. In 1944, the monastery was protected by the state and rebuilt. Overnight in camp/tent.
Day 12. Ulaanbaatar
Travel to Ulaanbaatar early in the morning and arriving in the afternoon. Go for shopping to buy some cashmere and souvenirs. Mongolian cashmere products are getting very famous in the world market with its best quality and price. Overnight in hotel.
Day 13. Departure
Transfer to airport.
