Horse riding in Mongolia tour offers an opportunity to witness the untouched beauty of northern Mongolia, while also experiencing the lifestyle of nomadic families. If you’re looking for a chance to meditate and enjoy some alone time, this trip provides ample space to do so. Riding a Mongolian horse is a unique experience, unlike any other horse breed. Our friendly horse trekking guides will take you to explore the beautiful Darkhad Valley, Khoridol Saridag SPA, and Khovsgol Lake National Park. Although the trip may be challenging, you’ll feel fully energized and refreshed by the end.

Day 1. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll take a city tour, including visits to Genghis Khan Square, the National Historical Museum, Gandan Monastery, Zaisan Hill, and a Traditional Cultural Show. We’ll have dinner at a restaurant and stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 2. Ugii Lake via Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes

We’ll drive to the Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes, one of the highest and most beautiful dunes in Mongolia. Here, you can ride a two-humped Mongolian camel. We’ll then continue our journey towards Ugii Lake, where the sunset is truly amazing. We’ll stay overnight in a camp.

Day 3. Ugii Lake to Khovsgol Lake

We’ll drive to Khosvgol Lake via Moron city. When we arrive in Moron in the afternoon, we’ll go shopping to prepare the food and other things that are needed for the horse trekking and then continue driving to the ger camp near the shore of  Khovsgol Lake where we’ll stay overnight.

Day 4-9. Horse Riding Days

We’ll start our horse riding through the Khovsgol Lake National Park, Darkhad Valley, and Khoridol Saridag SPA that one the most remote places of Mongolia. Throughout the trip, we’ll have a horse team to carry our luggage. Typically, we’ll ride for 15-20 km a day and sleep in tents at night. Our highly experienced team will take care of your comfort, and our professional chef will serve various types of delicious meals. For the first three days, we’ll ride along the lake and then head westward through the wilderness. After a week, we’ll reach the village of Renchinlhumbe in the Darkhad depression. Next, we’ll ride along the Khoridol Saridag Mountains, which are incredibly beautiful and intriguing.

Day 10. End of Horse Trekking/Return to Base Camp

This is the last day of your horse riding tour in Mongolia. We’ll arrive back at the camp and say goodbye to our horse guides. In the evening, we can celebrate the end of the trip by making a bonfire and singing around it. We’ll stay overnight in a ger camp.

Day 11. Free Day at the Lake

Today, we’ll stay at the camp all day and relax. You can manage your day as you wish. Here are some ideas of things to do: horse trekking, jet boat, hiking, visiting nomadic family, swimming, and trying traditional foods and other activities are available for your interest. We’ll stay overnight in a ger camp.

Day 12. Drive to Selenge River in Khutag-Undur

Today, we’ll head back to Ulaanbaatar and sleep in a tourist camp near the Selenge River, the biggest river in Mongolia, in the Khutag-Undur village. It takes about 4-5 hours to drive. We’ll stay overnight in a ger camp.

Day 13. Genghis Khan Statue Complex via Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we’ll drive to the Genghis Khan Statue Complex via Ulaanbaatar. This is the biggest horse statue in the world that represents the 13th century of Mongolia. Here, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant, visit the museum, and get on top of the statue. In the late afternoon, we’ll go back to Ulaanbaatar for shopping and to buy some souvenirs and cashmere. Before dinner, we’ll have a traditional cultural concert in the theatre. We’ll stay overnight in a hotel.

Day 14. Departure Day

We’ll transfer you to the airport.
