The Second Biggest Freshwater Lake on Earth

As a result, the lake shares some similarities with its counterpart, such as the presence of 96 rivers that flow into the lake, while one river, the Egiin Gol, flows out of the Selenge River and ultimately into Lake Baikal.
Wildlife
Since 1992, Khovsgol Lake has been part of the national park of the same name, which covers 838,000 hectares, 251,000 of which are forested. The park is home to over 68 species of mammals, 237 species of birds, and 3 species of fish, including the endemic Khovsgol grayling.
