The Shiliin Bogd mountain is ten kilometers east of the Chinese border, which can also be seen from a distance due to its darker vegetation. You can climb the 1778-meter-high extinct volcano, which takes less than half an hour. From above, you not only have a great view of the surroundings, but they also say that the hiker gets new energy here. The Shiliin Bogd crater is 300 meters deep and from the edge, you can see around 200 extinct, well-preserved small neighboring volcanoes and even look as far as Inner Mongolia to China.
A Mongolian legend says that during the Manchu era, a group of men vowed to rob the rich to help the poor. Toroi Bandi was one of those men. You can find a statue of him on the way from Dariganga to the volcano, about 7 kilometers after you reach the Ganga Lake nature reserve.
