The Tumen-Ekh National Folk Ensemble is a renowned performing arts group from Mongolia. Its origin dates back to 1989 when the former director of the National Culture and Recreation Institute, S. Lunaa, named the group “Tumen-Ekh” after J. Badraa, a legendary scholar, writer, and folk icon.
From its modest beginnings, the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble has grown to become a top-tier performing arts group. Today, it boasts a diverse team of special, medium, and high professional actors, including some of the most talented folk artists in the region. Its repertoire includes an impressive range of folk and modern art, drawn from every Mongolian province.
Over the years, the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble has toured in more than 40 countries, earning widespread acclaim from both domestic and international audiences. Its rich repertoire features short and long folk songs, national music, traditional dances, ethnic dances, Tsam dances, huumii, traditional arts, and contortions.
With a team of about forty artists, the Tumen-Ekh Ensemble has received numerous awards and accolades for its outstanding contributions to Mongolian culture. In 2005, it was honored with the “Mongolian National Pride Organization” award, and in 2006, it received the “Mongolian Image Organization” award from the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
