SUMMARY:Ice festival in Khovsgol
DESCRIPTION:The Ice Festival takes place every year in late February or early March on the frozen Lake Khuvsgul and lasts two days. \nCompetitions include:\n\nSleigh racing\,\nTug of war\,\nSpeed skating\,\nSumo wrestling\nIce fishing\nMusical and shamanic performances.\n\nBeautiful ice sculptures are being carved\, you can watch them. On the second day there is a final bonfire. Small Gers with snacks\, so-called Guanz\, complete the unique experience. \nLocals sell souvenirs laid out on blankets during the festival\, such as felt goods\, reindeer and yak bone accessories\, wooden-carved spoons and deels\, the Mongolian cloaks. \nA tip for warm feet: If you want to visit the festival\, you should avoid conventional snowshoes from the outdoor shop\, you quickly get very cold feet in them. Boots lined with lambskin or felt boots are better\, which you can get in Ulan Bator before heading north. In it you keep the icy cold and the wind on the frozen lake \n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:These two festivals were created to boost winter tourism. They fall in February or March and are close together. The camel festival in Umnugobi province in southern Mongolia has been celebrated since 1997. In addition to a camel race\, which is held over a distance of 15 kilometers\, there will be a camel polo game and a camel parade.

SUMMARY:Nauriz
DESCRIPTION:On March 22\, the Kazakh national festival is held\, marking the beginning of spring. Nauriz means “new year” in Persian. The festival is celebrated by all Muslims in Central Asia and is very similar to the Mongolian New Year celebrations. It is said that celebrating a wedding or the birth of a child on the day of the Nauriz festival brings good luck. The Kazakhs traditionally eat koje\, a yoghurt-rice soup\, and uuts\, saddle of mutton\, on Nauriz. On the first day\, greet the sun and “open the eyes of the source” by moving rocks in a creek bed. The men plant trees. This day is also often used to resolve disputes. The task of the grandmother\, who is usually dressed in a white headscarf\, is to throw five delicacies of a sheep with sweets in the air and thus offer the best parts of the animal to the gods: the heart\, the kidneys\, the lungs\, the liver and the Spleen. The rituals also include the “battle for the blue goat”\, which actually consists of a simple brown leather bag made of goat skin. Two men\, each seated on a horse\, hold him and try to pull each other out of the saddle. The game is called Kyaz Khur\, sometimes also called Buskaschi.
