The Northern Mongolia and Gobi Tour is an adventure-packed exploration of the stunning natural landscapes and ancient cultural wonders of Mongolia. This classic tour encompasses the diverse regions of the Gobi, forestland, and steppe, providing an unparalleled opportunity for travelers to visit many different places at once. Over the course of 19 days, you will have the chance to delve into the rich history and heritage of Mongolia, visiting many of its most famous sites and monuments.

Day 1. Arrival day.

On the first day, you will embark on a city tour of UB, which includes visits to the Gandan Monastery, National Historical Museum, Zaisan Hill, and Traditional Cultural show. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 2. Baga Gazariyn Chuluu.

From there, the adventure tour begins in earnest, as you set out for the South Gobi region of Mongolia. On day two, you will marvel at the incredible natural beauty of Baga Gazariyn Chuluu, an area of granite surrounded by flat plains that covers a vast 300 square km area. Overnight in a camp.

Day 3. Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa).

We will continue our journey to Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), where you will encounter towering cliffs that rise 60 meters high and stretch for over 400 meters in length. Overnight in a tent.

Day 4. Vulture Valley (Yoliyn Am)

Today we bring you to the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, where you will witness some of Mongolia’s most endangered wildlife, such as bearded vultures (lammergeiers), snow leopards, black ibex, and bighorn sheep. Overnight in a ger.

Day 5. Khongor Sand Dunes.

We will set out for the Khongor Sand Dunes, the largest sand dune in Mongolia. The tour will be challenging, but the reward is well worth it: the chance to experience the vastness and emptiness of the Mongolian Gobi in all its glory. Overnight in a ger.

Day 6. Khongor Sand Dunes-Rest Day

This is a rest day, during which you can climb the Singing Dune (Duut Mankhan) of Khongoriyn Sand Dunes, meditate, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Overnight in a ger.

Day 7. Bayanzag/Flaming Cliff/

Today is spent exploring Bayanzag (The Flaming Cliff), where you can witness the ancient dinosaur signs and capture stunning photos of the enchanting sunset in the Gobi. Overnight in a camp.

Day 8. Ongi Monastery

Today we will leave the Gobi behind and enter central Mongolia, exploring the Ongi River valley and the secret history of Ongi Monastery, one of the oldest temples in the region. Overnight in a camp.

Day 9. Kharakhorin.

Travel to the ancient Mongolian capital of Kharkhorum (Kharkhorin) and the famous Erdene-Zuu Monastery from the Middle Ages. Overnight in a camp.

Day 10. Tsenkher Hot Spring

Visit the Tsenkher Hot Spring in Arkhangay province, one of the biggest natural hot springs in the region. The spring is renowned for its medicinal properties and is said to be beneficial for a range of medical conditions, including arthritis, stomach issues, anemia, skin diseases, and diabetes. Overnight in a camp.

Day 11. Terkhiyn Tsagaan Lake, Khorgo Extinct Volcano.

We’ll head towards the Tariat Soum of the Arkhangay province to explore the Terkhyn Tsagaan Lake National Park and the Khorgo extinct volcano. The Khorgo volcano crater, which was active around 8000 years ago, is one of the biggest burnt volcano craters in Mongolia. The crater is approximately 400 meters wide and 100 meters deep, and its surrounding areas are covered with up to 50 meters of lava. The sign lava continues for about 100 km through the valley of the Chuluut River. You’ll have an opportunity to go hiking and explore the incredible environment surrounding the lake and volcano. Overnight, you’ll stay in a tent and enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. Overnight in a ger.

Day 12. Jargalant Soum

Our journey towards Jargalant Soum of the Khovsgol province. The Mongolian country off-roads here are a sight to behold, and you’ll be amazed by the diverse flora and fauna. Later, you’ll spend the night in a tent and experience the joy of camping in the wilderness. Overnight in a tent.

Day 13. Moron City

Travel to Moron City in the Khovsgol province, which is known for its beautiful high mountains with larch, pine, and spruce trees, and of course, the Khovsgol Lake. This lake is famously referred to as the Blue Pearl and is renowned for its crystal-clear water. The Khovsgol province boasts an enormous part of Mongolian forest and fresh water. We’ll spend the night in a camp near the city.

Day 14. Khovsgol Lake

Drive to Khovsgol Lake National Park, which is well known for its crystal-clear Khovsgol Lake. This lake is the second biggest freshwater lake in the world, and it contains around 1 percent of the world’s freshwater. The lake is 136 km long and about 40 km wide and is surrounded by beautiful larch and pine trees. You’ll have an opportunity to take a picture with reindeer and yaks, which are unique to this region. There are many tourist camps in the area, and they offer a lot of interesting activities for tourists. We’ll spend the night at a camp.

Day 15. Khovsgol Lake /rest day/

Rest day at the camp. You can manage your day as you wish and indulge in various activities such as horse riding, jet boating, hiking, visiting nomads’ families, swimming, and tasting traditional foods. There are plenty of options available to keep you entertained. Overnight, you’ll stay at the camp.

Day 16. Khutag-Undur soum

We’ll drive to Khutag-Undur Soum of the Bulgan Province for 340 km by paved road. The Bulgan province is one of the most preferred destinations for tourists visiting Mongolia. The parts of this region are very different from each other, and the Khutag-Undur Soum area is mostly covered with forest. The biggest and most beautiful Selenge River runs through its landscape, offering a breathtaking view. Overnight, we’ll stay in a tent.

Day 17. Amarbayasgalant Monastery

Travel to the Amarbaysgalant monastery. The monastery was built in the early 18th Century and was dedicated to St. Zanabazar, the first Bogd of Mongolia. It is believed that over 6000 monks lived in 50 temples. Unfortunately, the monastery was destroyed by communists during the Great Revolution in the 1930s. In 1944, the monastery was protected by the state and rebuilt. Overnight, we’ll stay in a tent.

Day 18. Ulaanbaatar

Move to Ulaanbaatar early in the morning and arrive in the afternoon. You’ll have time for shopping and buying some cashmere and souvenirs. Mongolian cashmere products are known for their best quality and price and are getting very famous in the world market. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 19. Departure.
