The Birds Paradise
Uureg Lake is a magnificent circular water body nestled in a picturesque closed depression between the Tsagaan Shiveet and Turgen Mountains, which are part of the majestic Altai Mountains. With an area of 238 square kilometers and an elevation of 1426 meters above sea level, this breathtaking lake is a permanent water body that is 19 km long and 18 km wide. The entire shore of the lake gently slopes towards the water, and there are no corners or islands to disrupt the serene view. The lake is primarily fed by the temporary flows of Tsagaan Shuvuut, Tsagduul, and Kharig Rivers, as well as the permanent Kharig River. Uureg Lake has no outflow, which means its water is salty due to high evaporation. The overall beauty and tranquility of Uureg Lake make it a must-see destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
