The northern Mongolia tourism region comprises Khuvsgul, Bulgan, and Selenge provinces. This region is the primary area of Khangai, characterized by numerous forests and big and small rivers. The Northern or Khangai region is a well-developed tourism hub with excellent road infrastructure and many tourist camps and resorts. On the route from Ulaanbaatar to Khusgul, you will encounter significant Mongolian cities like Darkhan and Erdenet. The major rivers in this region, including Orkhon, Selenge, Eg, Chuluuut, and Ider, are perfect for fishing trips, and the largest salmon species, /hucho/ Taimen, is abundant here. This area is also ideal for horseback riding.
